With the third overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, the Atlanta Braves selected Ian Anderson, a right-handed pitcher out of Shenendehowa High School(NY). Anderson is committed to Vanderbilt University, but is expected to sign with the Braves.
Anderson is listed at 6’3, 175 lbs. As a right-handed power pitcher, Anderson can run his fastball up to the 91-94 MPH range, while peaking at 96-98 MPH. The young righty also adds a slurve that sits in the high 70s to the low 80s. A plus change-up rounds out a balanced pitching arsenal. Multiple scouts and scouting outlets have given Anderson a comparison to Mets superstar pitcher, Jacob DeGrom.
