The Hawks tip off against the Celtics tonight at 8 pm in Atlanta in Philips Arena for game 6 and hopefully for the last time.
This series has been wild, starting with two demanding home wins by Atlanta. But, when they traveled to Boston they were unable to maintain composure. The Celtics proved themselves and mirrored what the Hawks had just accomplished with two wins in the the TD garden to tie up the series.
Back home Tuesday night, the Hawks were energized and clearly showed up both offensively and defensively, winning 110-83 and now leading the series 3-2.
Now the Hawks look to end this series tonight at home. To successfully come out with a win the Hawks must keep the ball secure, keeping turn overs to a minimum. Boston’s offensive powerhouses are Isaiah Thomas and Evan Turner, but every starter has seemed to be putting up a significant number of points at some point during the series. Atlanta must keep Thomas out of the paint and Turner from that 3 point arc. Offensively, the Hawks need Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap to step up in a big way tonight, leading the team to victory. It would also be nice to see Al Horford get into things offensively tonight for the first time all series.
Keys to the game:
Clean yet strong defense, continuous throughout game
Offensive leaders to step up and find the open easy shot
