The University Of Georgia football spring game reached a record setting crowd of 93 thousand people. Head Coach Kirby Smart’s campaign for #93KDay worked. It was a fun filled day in Athens, Georgia.
It started off with famous rapper Ludacris from Atlanta doing a 15 minute concert and repping the red and black. Ending with “UGA I love y’all”. It seemed dawg fans thought the same about him. It made the sea of red and black hyped for what was to come.
The Georgia Bulldog football players were greeted by 93 thousand people yelling at the top of their lungs. Showing the dawg fans at the beginning of the warm ups stretches and mini drills for the players. Head Coach Kirby Smart was pointing his hand up to the crowd to show his appreciation for achieving the goal. Not only did Georgia get a sell out crowd but also received a 4 star defensive back from Atlanta, William Poole III Commiting to the University Of Georgia over rival Florida. Helping the 2017 recruiting class and the also recruits thinking about joining.
The game starting slow in the beginning with a score of Team Black winning 3-0 over Team Red. Then a roar in the crowd came as the former top recruit in the nation from the state of Washington, Jacob Eason hit the field for the first time in Sanford Stadium in a game. Jacob completed his first pass to running back Brennan Douglas for 13 yards. He lived up to his hype by going 19 for 29 with 244 passing yards and a touchdown to fellow early enrolle Isaac Nauta. For the Quarterback dilemma it is still unclear who will be the starter in Atlanta verses North Carolina.
What did Head Coach Kirby Smart think about the 93 thousand dawgs showing up to G Day? Opening remarks would be: Wow. .. There were a lot of doubters out there.” Also starting running back Sony Michel saying “Georgia has the best fans in the world”. It seemed like impossible for UGA to get a sell out crowd for thier spring game but it was just the opposite. It just shows how big UGA football has become and will be in the future.
The Black Team defeated the Red Team 34-14.
