We are all aware of the speedy WiFi coming to SunTrust Park, but most of us are unaware of the various other amenities that the Braves have been adding to increase the appeal of the park (and bringing in extra revenue). First, the club recently announced that SunTrust park will be used as a standalone concert venue. To clarify, these concerts will be separate from the annual Atlanta Braves Summer Concert Series. This is primarily aimed at earning a bit of extra revenue, although it will undoubtedly increase the popularity of the stadium as well. Additionally, the construction of a pedestrian bridge that would connect the park to the Cobb Galleria is becoming increasingly possible. This bridge would create increase the general accessibility of the park, and it would be mutually beneficial to both the park and the mall. Finally, the Braves announced in late March that SunTrust Park will feature a “zip line.” The zip line is primarily targeted at increasing the allure of the park, and it would likely succeed in doing so. The line would run from the backside of the billboard and transport riders from one side of the concourse to the opposite side. This is a very intelligent marketing strategy, as it greatly increases the appeal of the park without costing the club too much.
