On Monday, it was announced that manager Fredi Gonzalez and the Braves have given the Opening Day start to Julio Teheran. It is Julio’s third consecutive Opening Day start and really, it comes without surprise as the rotation is looking rather weak and looking like Atlanta’s biggest concern for the 2016 season as Julio Teheran is the only one in that rotation even close to “ace” status. However, if the Braves are in it by the All-Star break, and they decide to be competitive, don’t be surprised if the Three Johns make a move to bring a front line starter to Atlanta. However, that is a really big if. But, you never know, stranger things have happened *cough cough Worst-to-first cough cough 1991.*
Teheran will face the Nats at Turner Field on April 4th for Turner Field’s final Opening Day.
