Why the Falcons should take Darron Lee with the 17th pick.

Dan Quinn always preaches fast and physical football. The Falcons are searching for ideal players to fit Dan Quinn’s scheme. With the 17th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft the Atlanta Falcons select Darron Lee, linebacker from Ohio State. Darron Lee is the most athletically gifted linebacker in this years draft. Lee is more athletic than Reggie Ragland and any linebacker currently on the Falcon’s roster. It also certainly looks like Lee will fall to the 17th pick as Reggie Ragland will not. Quinn likes fast linebackers in his scheme which was something he had in Seattle. Many mock drafts have Darron Lee going to the Falcons at 17 in this years draft, and most Falcon fans should like this pick. The Falcons defiantly need a linebacker who can cover the field, and take tight ends also running backs out of the picture. You get that in Lee who is gifted with speed and coverage skills. Lee would be a nice compliment to new comer Courtney Upshaw. Lee can play middle linebacker or outside linebacker, but it’s where Quinn wants him to play that matters. With Weatherspoon back, and the addition of Courtney Upshaw it’s very likely if Lee were selected he would most likely start with these two. Quinn has the coaching ability to develop tackling skills and other skills of that nature, but you cant teach speed folks something the Falcons are craving for this defense. Lee would be a very nice addition to this defense and would be star for many years here in Atlanta. I think you most likely see the Falcons take this guy as most pass rushers will be off the board by the 17th pick.
