It was a dawg fight in Nashville on Thursday night. Georgia started off the game slow and in a slump, but after a Mark Fox time out UGA went on a 12-0 run right before the first half was completed. Starting off the second half UGA started slow by missing six of their first seven shot attempts. Luckily Georgia out scored Mississippi State 15-7 in the beginning of the second half by taking a 57-41 lead.
Mississippi State came back by making 10 shots in a row. Cutting the lead by a score of 68-64 with the dawgs from Georgia on top with 7:02 to go in the second half. Unfortunately for Mississippi State they missed the next 10 of their 14 shot attempts. Luckily with UGA point guard JJ Fraizer’s 28 points going 8 for 17 from the field and 4 for 9 from the three point line, Georgia was able to pull out a victory in Nashville also with the help from UGA teammate Yante Maten with a total of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Winning big 79-69 in the Second round of the SEC Tournament. Giving Georgia a four game winning streak.
Georgia will be playing the number 4 seed South Carolina Gamecocks in the SEC Tournament on March 11th at 9:25 pm ET. The last time these teams played UGA won the contest 74-72 on March 3rd.
