The Atlanta Falcons recently added WR Carlton Mitchell and released undrafted rookie Shane Wynn from Indiana. Mitchell was drafted in the 6th round (177th overall) of 2010 NFL Draft. Mitchell is from South Florida University and has only caught three passes as a Brown. He played 16 games in Cleveland and caught for 31 yards in the process.
The Falcons are looking to give Matt Ryan more help on the receiving end. Julio Jones is the main target for Ryan but with WR Roddy White getting old and not much help the Tight Ends, Ryan needs other options. Mitchell will join a group of talented WR’s such as Julio Jones, Roddy White, Justin Hardy (R), Devin Hester, Freddy Martino, etc. It may be hard to find playing time for Mitchell but Shanahan and Quinn see something in the veteran and believe he will do well.
